Feverfew Extract Powder

Tanacetum parthenium (feverfew) is a traditional medicinal herb which is commonly used to prevent migraine headaches, and is also occasionally grown for ornament. The plant grows into a small bush up to around 46 cm (18 in) high with citrus-scented leaves, and is covered by flowers reminiscent of daisies. Feverfew has been used in traditional medicine as far back as the 1st century for inflammatory conditions and to prevent the occurrence of migraine headaches.

 

Parthenolide is a sesquiterpene lactone of the germacranolide class which occurs naturally in the plant feverfew. Feverfew is used in herbalism and is purportedly useful for a variety of ailments. Parthenolide helps normalize the functions of platelets in the blood system by inhibiting platelet aggregation, reducing serotonin release from platelets and blocking the formation of pro-inflammatory mediators.
